Last week, one of my friends got pink eye and had no idea why it happened. I asked her if she had shared any beauty products recently, and it turns out that she had shared a tube of mascara with one of her other friends. Makeup sharing is a huge no-no, but she never believed me when I told her that doing so could be harmful! There are a ton of makeup myths out there, and it’s important to separate fact from fiction.

You obviously need to take care of your skin, hair and nails. Well, you also need to take care of your products and be informed on how to use them properly. You might not think that using an old tube of mascara will do anything, but you’ll probably wake up with an eye infection. It’s time to bust some cosmetic myths:

Myth #1: You Can’t Wear Colors That Match Your Eyes

You can wear whatever colors you feel like wearing! The reason certain shades are recommended for your eye color is to make your eye color stand out. For instance, green-eyed girls are told to wear purples because they are complimentary so purple eyeliner will make green eyes pop and appear more green. But you can wear colors that match your eye color or that are totally opposite. It’s up to you!

Myth #2: You Can’t Wear Colors That Match Your Eyes
